Reaching Our Community

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Oakwood serves as a distribution center for the Operation Christmas Child program through Samaritan's Purse. Each year our congregation gathers to pack over 1,200 shoeboxes for children overseas. For additional information on the program visit Operation Christmas Child. 


BLANKET BLESSINGS

This group meets the first Saturday of each month to create no-sew blankets for those in our community. Their goal is to show God's love and warmth to those in need - those who are shut-in, hospitalized, sick or grieving. 


OPEN HANDS FOOD PANTRY

Open Hands was created to provide food and basic essentials to individuals in need. Supplies are provided by Oakwood's congregation. 


LIGHTHOUSE VETERANS MINISTRY

The Lighthouse Veterans Ministry was established to reach and show God's love to veterans in the Charleston area.

UNION MISSION MINISTRIES

Oakwood works in partnership with Union Mission Ministries to help individuals in need in the Charleston area. Members of Oakwood have provided food and basic supplies, helped with clean-up projects, and hosted Bible Studies for residents at the Brookside shelter.
